On January 15th, 2019, EXIN international information science examination institute issued DevOps Foundation Certification for the world. As the primary certification in DevOps certification system, the release of this certification is popular. So why do so many people think highly of DevOps foundation?
DevOps is a combination of development and operations, which is a movement involving culture, management, technology and many other aspects. DevOps movement has been in the world for more than 10 years (the first DevOpsDays was held in Ghent, Belgium in 2009), but it has been rising in China for only more than two years (the first DevOpsDays in China was held in Beijing in March 2017).

I participated in DevOps Master certification training in early March 2017 and obtained DevOps Master certificate. But as time goes by (about a year later), the popularity of DevOps Master certification training has decreased significantly.I think there are two main reasons for this. First, this certification is an advanced certification. Few people can adapt to it. Moreover, the price is relatively high (training and examination costs more than $1547), so it is unlikely that there will be a large amount of training and examination. Second, DevOps is still in its infancy in China. Internet companies are the main ones that can really land. IT personnel in other industries mainly want to know something about DevOps so it is unlikely that they will spend more than $1547 to obtain a DevOps Master certification. Later, EXIN launched DevOps Professional certification (middle-level certification), but the performance was still not good.
So why do so many people think highly of DevOps foundation?
First, EXIN is the main promoter of DevOps in China. Through DevOpsDays activities and DevOps Master / professional certification training in the past two years, EXIN has accumulated a certain popularity and good reputation. With DevOps foundation certification, EXIN’s DevOps certification system is more perfect and applicable.
Second, the specified teaching materials of EXIN DevOps Foundation certification training are more innovative, and the content expressed is closer to the actual situation. The application of DevOps will gradually expand from Internet companies to finance, telecommunications, manufacturing, logistics, education, medical and other industries. So, more and more people want to know about DevOps.
